As I studied in chapters three, four, and five of Esther, I learned some valuable things when it comes to dealing in spiritual warfare, enemies, and deliverance.

Here's a short recap of what happened. Haman was promoted above all the other princes that were with him. The king commanded that everyone should bow to Haman but Mordecai, Esther's cousin, would not. When Haman heard of it, he became full of wrath and indignation towards Mordecai and the rest of the Jews, including Mordecai's family, to the point he had a decree sent out to kill all Jews. Queen Esther finds out because Mordecai and her people were mourning which causes her to ask about what is going on. Mordecai tells her and commands her to go before the king to have the decree revoked reminding her that she is also a Jew, once she tells him the protocol for going before the king. She realizes she could die if she enters into the king without permission and if she doesn't try to have the decree revoked. She is in between a rock and a hard place. So, she calls a three day fast and says she will go into the king, and if she perish, she perishes.

I took note of a couple of things here that are useful

1. When you are up against a battle that's too hard for you or when you're stuck in between a rock and a hard place like Esther was, you can always call on God for deliverance by praying along with fasting, three days and three nights. It's proven throughout the bible. You see it in Esther chapter four and in Daniel 2:9-19, when King Nebuchadnezzer wanted his dream interpreted. To get things to change and victories in the natural, you must first tackle them in the spiritual. That's what fasting and praying does for you. It's all spiritual warfare and battles that we cannot see with our natural eyes. The battle is won spiritually first followed by a natural victory. Fasting looses the bands of wickedness, undoes heavy burdens, let's the oppressed go free, breaks yokes off of lives, deals bread to the hungry, brings in the poor, covers those who are naked, makes your light shine, your health spring forth, makes your righteousness go before you and causes the glory of the Lord to be upon you, (Isaiah 58;6-8)

2. For the Lord to use you, you have to have humility and be able to submit to the Lord's will as well as be bold when it comes down to Satan and his devices. When the king asked Esther what were her requests, she constantly said in much humility, "If I have found favor in your sight and if it pleases the king to grant my petition". She was humble. She was submissive. With humility, you will find favor in the sight of God and man, which can grant you the things you ask for.(Proverbs 3:4) The king's heart was in God's hand(Proverbs 21:10 and she knew that. That is why she chose to fast. She also was bold and courageous, courageous because she knew she could die but yet still put her life on the line for her people because she trusted God, bold because she knew Haman was after her cousin, her family, and the rest of the Jews, but requested he come to a feast she prepared for him along with the king, even though he didn't know she knew. The fast proved her faith in God when all odds were against her. (Esther 4:16) Here's a couple of scriptures for this epic move. (Proverbs 25:21-22) (Romans 12:20) (Proverbs 28:1) You also have to be courageous even when it's the scariest. There are consequences for being fearful, but God constantly reminds us that He will be with us. (Deuteronomy 31:6) (Joshua 1:9) (Psalm 27:4) (Psalm 31:24) (Revelations 21:8)(Story of Jonah)

3.The Lord will prepare a table for you in the presence of your enemy, (Psalm 23:5) while he allows them to think they have the upper hand on you. We see that in (Esther 5:8). Haman was so joyful to go before the king and queen to feast, not knowing the whole time she knew about his plot against the Jews. (Isaiah 26:10) He was deceitful. He knew that Esther was related to Mordecai because of Chapter 3 verses 5-6, lets us know this. He then went home and still had gallows prepared for Mordecai. He was another Judas. Little did he know the very pit he dug for someone else would be the one he would fall in as written in Proverbs 26:27.

When we have enemies plotting against us, we can turn to the Word for everything we need to help us overcome the devil so that we retain grace and honor in the sight of God, so the Lord will recompense our enemies, and so we will see victory. Use the examples and the keys to the kingdom He has given us to overcome satan and this world, instead of letting our flesh lead us against things or people clearly being influenced by evil spirits. Then, you will see victory. The story continues and gems as I go into chapters 6,7,8, and 9. Stay tuned for the next blog. Peace and blessings!
