In chapter two, we see that Vashti was rejected from being queen and the search began to find another to replace her. The king wanted all beautiful women that were virgins, which reminds me of how Christ wants us when it is time for the marriage of the supper of the Lamb, without spot or blemish. He wants us literally like virgins. (Matthew 22:8-14) Many virgins were called but only Esther was chosen. Many of us have been called, but only a few will be chosen. Those who are chosen will have on the right garments and be without spot or blemish, having made themselves ready, (Matthew 25:1-10) which is what will get them into the kingdom of God. Esther had on the right garments inwardly, even though there were many other beautiful women among her. She was very humble. She had already pleased the king and obtained kindness in his sight but still took the things for the 12 months of purification and made herself ready. She could have been like I don't need to do all of this because I'm already fine just the way I am but she didn't. It actually got her promoted twice, once to the best place of the house of the women and then into the royal house. This tells you that outer beauty alone is not enough. Proverbs 31:30 reminds us that, "Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain: but a woman who feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

I am also reminded with Esther obtaining the crown, how we as the church will obtain our crowns in the Kingdom of God if we make ourselves ready for His return and overcome this world. (James 1;12)

Esther had to go through a purification process, six months of oils and myrrh and six months of sweet odors. These were used to clean her up and keep her smelling good and fresh for the moment she would go into the king. When it comes to our King, Jesus, we have to go through a purification process to be ready so that we may enter in into His kingdom, as well as when the Lord is is preparing you for your husband. The oil in this case that will purify you is the Word of God. You have to take the time to study daily, day and night, and allow it to change you. It will help you get rid of the ways of the world. You can't be worldly and doing things the way worldly women do them but think you will still be chosen to enter into the kingdom of God or granted that godly husband.

Some things that will probably need to be done away with when God is preparing you for a husband is,

  1. the independent mindset that you don't need a man

  2. Past hurts and traumas from past relationships or your childhood. The Lord will take you through a healing process if you allow him to.

  3. Any toxic ways or bad habits that you have or may have had. He will highlight certain things about yourself to yourself in many ways so that you begin to work on these things.

  4. Pride, selfishness, and any feminist views you have

  5. Toxic people, friends or influences

  6. Things that no longer serve you and where you are going

As the Lord prepares you to be fit for His kingdom, He has you get rid of these things summed up into one verse, Galatians 5;19-21 KJV

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

He reminds us of this as well in James 4:4-6 KJV

4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?

6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humbl

The king resisted Vashti, who was proud, and grace was given to Esther, who was humble.

Another thing I wanted to touch on, is the fact that when Esther had been given her things for purification, Mordecai told her not to tell her people or the Jews. Why is that? I came to the conclusion that with promotion, comes jealousy. We see that in the story of Joseph and his brothers, Daniel and the lions den, and with Saul and David. She also was a Jew and not of the Medes and Persians. So, her own people may have tried to talk her out of it but the Lord knew what was up ahead and she was chosen for a time such as this. There was a purpose to her being chosen as queen. She had a job to do.

Esther's fruits spoke for her and granted her the position as queen in

Ahasuerus's kingdom. If we allow ourselves to be purified and washed from the filth of this world, we will also be granted a spot in our Lord's kingdom. Then, we shall wear our crowns as well. Stay tuned for the continuation of the series and please be sure to share with someone. Peace and Blessings!!
