In chapters 8,9, and 10, the Jews saw victory along with Mordecai being promoted. The decrees were reversed and the Jews had power over their enemies to do unto them what they actually were going to do unto the Jews. The people also feared the Jews once they saw that the decrees were reversed and that the Lord had delivered them from Haman and his wicked devices. Mordecai even became greater and greater throughout all the provinces . Then, Purim was established in remembrance of the days that the Jews rested from their enemies and the month where sorrow was turned to joy and mourning to a good day.

I picked up a few gems from theses chapters as I studied.

  1. The Lord allows a wealth transfer to take place with the wicked. You can be a good person or a wicked person with wealth, but if you do evil, that wealth will be given to the just, as we see in Esther 8:7. Proverbs 13;12 tells us this also.

  2. Mordecai was given the royal apparel that was described as blue but more of a violet color, which signified royalty, kingship, and priesthood. He was given the king's authority and was a righteous ruler. This remind me of the Father in heaven and His son Jesus Christ. We know this because Esther 8:15-16 says, the people rejoiced when he was crowned but when Haman was crowned the people were perplexed.(Esther 3:15) Proverbs 29:2 tells us that when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn. It will be same way when our King reigns(Psalm 97:1) on this Earth because right now the world lies in the hands of the wicked one. When the Lord return, He shall wipe away every tear from your eyes (Revelations 21:2-4). This is who Mordecai is symbolic of in the book of Esther, Jesus

  3. When the Lord vindicates you, it will cause the people around you to fear God, just because of how he moved on your behalf. Here are some reference scriptures. (Psalm 18:43) (Genesis 35:5) (Deuteronomy 2:24-25) (Deuteronomy 11:25) (Esther 9:2). You will be exalted over your enemies, waxing greater and greater. We see an example of this in Esther 9:4, 2 Samuel 3:1, and with Saul and David. (1 Chronicles 11:9)(Proverbs 4:18)

  4. Overall, the entire book of Esther and even Purim, is an example on the prideful and the humble, the wealthy and the poor, and who all will and will not make it into the Lord's Kingdom. Haman and Vashti were full of pride but Mordecai and Esther were humble and at the end of the day, when the Lord marries His bride, it will be a remnant of those who are meek and of a contrite spirit. These are the ones that will make it into the Kingdom of God, receiving their crowns and being honored. Are you prepared? Are you ready? I hope this has edified. Peace and blessings to you!
